My ink-smudging, elbow-bumping, scissor-challenged southpaws, today is your day. It's Left Hander's Day!
As a part-time leftie (softball and golf), I in no way pretend to understand your pain. In fact, sports are one of the few spaces where left-handedness is seen as an advantage.
But I would argue it gives you the upper hand in other ways, too.
You live in a world that isn't made for you in so many ways. Can openers, corkscrews, basically dinner parties are hell. But you soldier through with your head held high and your elbow at the ready to remind the world that you're here.
My point is that there are a million things that right-handers take for granted everyday. Left-handers do everything we do, but counterintuitively. You figure it out. You adapt.
Being a left handed may not be glamorous most days, but it's an asset always. It makes you tough, resourceful, and a freaking rockstar. To paraphrase another lefthander - you're on the right (or left) track, baby; you were born this way...and you're awesome.
Okay, that's all I have for you. Get out there and keep doing you. Be brave and be kind.
