In the calendar of special television holidays, Halloween has always had a special place in my heart. Getting to see your favorite characters enjoy this fantastic, candy-fueled holiday was an annual treat.
Good times, am I right?
These days zombies, vampires, and monsters of all kinds are pretty much your standard programming, not that I’m complaining. Many of my favorite shows fit in very nicely with All Hallows Eve. So, on this very Halloween-y “What to Watch Wednesday,” for those of you who will not be watching Game 7 of the World Series (which is what you should be watching this Wednesday) I thought I’d share some of my favorite “spooky” shows:
“Sleepy Hollow”: Who knew Ichabod Crane could be such a bad ass action hero? (Disney didn’t…you poor spindly cartoon) This show goes so very far beyond the tale of the headless horseman we all know, and does it with style all the American history you had no idea you never knew. Prepare to be re-educated:
“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”: It’s on Netflix, just watch it now. It’s a great show, that happens to be about vampires, and this was before vampires were en vogue. Just go watch it now, after listening to this guys fantastic explanation for why you should:
“The Walking Dead”: This probably the most truly scary of the shows I watch (with the possible exception of AHS), because we all know the most terrifying thing in the world is mindless human…that wants to eat your brain. It’s also a great show about what makes us human, what we’ll do to survive, and what just surviving does to us. Think about it and enjoy this awesome bad lip-reading music video:
