…Get Angry

Only one week to go until “The Avengers” hits theaters.

With that being said, it’s time to discuss another kind of hitting, of the Hulk variety.

Bruce Banner, the Hulk, is easily the most misunderstood of the Avengers. And it’s not just because his films haven’t been well received in the past (“The Hulk”-2003; “The Incredible Hulk” – 2008).

Although, that is a big part of the problem. They (Hollywood) just can’t seem to figure out who the Hulk is. And I’m not referring to the ever changing cast (Eric Bana – 2003; Edward Norton – 2008; Mark Ruffalo-2012).

The Hulk story always seems to get wrapped up in finding a cure; which is a bit ridiculous when you consider that Bruce Banner/ the Hulk is just like all of us.

The victim of a science experiment gone wrong, Bruce Banner/ the Hulk is more than just a caricature/ comic book version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He’s humanity in its rawest form.

We all have our own demons, and have to control our anger and other less than pleasant personality traits. And, yes, occasionally we fail.

However, we learn to control and channel our anger and frustrations. It’s a part of being the Hulk and human. So, finding a cure? Not really an option, unless you think you can cure humanity. Which sounds like some sort of sinister plot…

That being said, you still probably don’t want to get the Hulk angry. You won’t like him when he’s angry.
