…get Flappy

…get flappy

…set on a course for destruction…

The world of procrastination was dealt a serious blow this weekend, when “Flappy Bird,” a rising star in the world of mobile games was wiped from existence. Citing the product’s addictive nature, the game’s creator, Dong Nguyen, has stood by his promise to remove the app from the App Store and says the game will be gone forever.

While many are mourning the loss by paying obscene amounts of money for phones that already have the game downloaded onto them, others are further exhibiting the veracity of Mr. Nguyen’s addictive claims by speaking of nothing else.

Personally, after hearing of the latest craze, I managed to give it about 15 seconds of my time and then got so frustrated that I uninstalled it and moved on to the simpler digital aviary pursuits of  Angry Birds. Clearly, I am not the norm.

Honestly, the bemoaning is a little perplexing to me. If you love it, you already have it, and you’re set; however, I suppose that’s the nature of addiction.

All I can offer you for solace, are the myriad of copycat Flappy products, as a substitute Flappy fix.  There’s a Flappy for every occasion: Flappy Plane, Flappy Whale, Flappy Penguin, Flappy Jellyfish, and even a Flappy Angry Bird.

Stay strong and flap on.
