When it comes to Team USA’s opening ceremony uniforms, public opinion has been mixed.
Some have been kind, calling the design classic Americana. While others have neglected the kindness for more colorful descriptions, calling the sweaters names such as an “explosion at the knitting factory.”
However, designer Ralph Lauren’s online sales would suggest that some of you weren’t entirely honest with your outward disgust. The chunky-knit, blazer cardigans sold out immediately online earlier this week.
If you think that’s unbelievable, then you haven’t heard the price — $595. Those are either some hardcore “ugly Christmas sweater” competitors, or some serious Team USA spirit.
Although, the gold medal for dedication goes to those who purchased the full set, complete with the pants ($195) and hat ($95).
