Valentine's Day has a reputation for being a divisive holiday. On one side you have those who just love to love, well, love. On the other side are the cynics.
Personally, I think most of us fall somewhere in the middle. It's hard to be completely cynical about a holiday that celebrates love. It's also hard to completely buy into the commercialized version of love. Basically, it's complicated, but it doesn't have to be.
Today is about love, so why not just embrace it. Love comes in all shapes and sizes, not just in romantic gestures and heart-shaped candy boxes. So, don't forget to reach out to all the ones you love today. (Maybe remember to do that on days that aren't holidays too.) Drop a line, send a text, maybe even squeeze in some face time. It will brighten their day, and I promise you it will make yours better too.
I'll let you get to it and leave you to enjoy your Valentine's Day and all the love in your life. To those who have found love, enjoy today for what it is not what you imagine it to be. To those who are on their way to love, enjoy the journey. To those who are flying solo, you keep doing you, rock star.
...just for fun:
Sorry anti-valentiners, today calls for a love ballad medley...
