Since the dawn of time (or at least the dawn of the Internet) humankind has been trying to find the secret formula to “going viral.”
Many have claimed to know the secret, but a recent study has proven that we’re still not even close to finding the answer (although don’t tell them that).
The study was conducted using UCLA students, and found that something interesting happened when those trying to sell an idea kicked their sales pitches into high gear. The temporoparietal junction (it’s a region of your brain) showed increased activity.
In plain English, it means that they subconsciously decided that this idea was worth sharing. In even plainer English, it means there is no secret.
Although based on past witnessed successes, all you need is a cat, a cute kid (and an adorable accent doesn’t hurt), and a ready and willing audience.
