Happy Election Day! Yes, we’ve made it through what will likely go down in history as one of the roughest presidential campaigns in US history. Which is a shame, because it should go down in history as the first US election when a woman ran for the office of president for one of our two main political parties.
Hopefully, once the dust has settled, it will go down in history as the first US election when a woman ran for the office of president and won.
…but I’m getting ahead of myself.
Now it’s time to sift through all the mud-slinging, scandals, name calling, and shouting. Now is the time to tune out all the other voices and let your voice be heard. Now is the time to vote. Vote with your conscience, heart, brain, gut, or whatever metaphor you prefer, just be sure to vote.
For me, the choice is simple. I won’t tell you who to vote for, but I will tell you (once again) to vote. A democracy only works if we all participate. So go out there and participate. See you on the other side.
