To say that I’ve fallen behind on my 3-month recap post is quite the understatement. I remember when October rolled around, I wrote the post in my head while traveling to work (I was without a pen) and I willed myself to remember to write it all down when I arrived, which of course, never did happen.
But since these posts are among my favorite (and apparently they’re yours too) and because doing a 5-month seems less overwhelming than a 6-month recap, I’ll sum up the last 5 months now and give December its own little spotlight at the end of the month, ya?
If I had to sum up the traveling theme of the last 5 months, it would have to be fruition (which is currently my favorite word). It seems like all of the things that I’ve been working so hard at carefully piecing together are finally starting to come to fruition. It’s funny though, when at the beginning of any journey, the end always seems so distant and far-fetched to us linear, impatient humans, doesn’t it? And when it does happen, when things become to resemble constructed goals we often forget our anxious-filled beginnings.
A few things come to mind when reflecting back on the last 5 months:
Concerts, camping, a new furry friend, road trips, San Francisco!, Redwood trees, birthdays, books, too my dumplings, listening to great stories, embracing downtime, meeting new people — especially inspiring older women, and realizing more than ever that I truly enjoy the uneven grit of life: the non-filtered photos, the stories that didn’t end happily, and the unpleasant and sometimes painful truths.
How about you? Did the last 5 months treat you well? Here is what I captured on my iPhone
PS: During my downtime, I gained a lot of new followers — A warm hello. Drop me a line, I’d love to hear from you!
