…grin and Bear It

Posted on the 07 September 2013 by Zer @the2women

…grin and bear itI know it’s Friday and you’re expecting a Flick Friday post, not a Facebook post. I’m sorry to disappoint, but isn’t life just one big film set and we its actors?

That’s my tie-in take it or leave it.

We all know Facebook has its ups and downs when it comes to the human psyche, but some of the studies lately are just plain contradictory.

For instance, the depression that can come from using Facebook is neither news nor surprising.  Humans were not meant to be constantly plugged in to a screen it’s not normal or healthy to sit and scan what fun things other people are doing while you’re sitting staring at a screen. In fact, it’s depressing. Lucky for those of you who have made that mistake there is now official treatment for it.

Of course for those suffering from Facebook induced depression there’s nothing more irritating than a chipper looking profile pic.  Their happiness in that profile pic may very well indicate their overall happiness. Yes, being happy in your Facebook profile pic may mean you are sometimes also happy when you are not in your Facebook profile pic. Mind blowing, right?

So, I believe the moral of the story is have a happy Facebook picture, it’s a matter of your future happiness, but just know that you’re probably bumming out several of your “friends.”

Facebook, you are a vicious emotional roller coaster.
