Happy 23rd, Lorelei

Posted on the 21 August 2012 by Piaiamps

For the first time, in 7 years, I was finally able to join in the celebration of my BFF’s birthday.
Of course, I wanted all the best for her birthday especially that she's away from her most loved ones and now having a baby. It’s, technically, her last birthday of being single. I wanted it to be somehow memorable.
When the clock struck 12 midnight , I sent her my birthday greetings. What could be the perfect way of starting off a celebration other than staying up late to be the first one to greet your friend? A lot, I know. But I think it’s one of the simplest yet sweetest gestures a person can do for a friend. In the morning, the boyfriend called and woke me up. I told him to call Lorelei so we can “personally” greet her. It was probably one of the best wakeup calls, ever.
Honestly, I had second thoughts of throwing her a party. Yes, I was planning of throwing her a party because I know that she was lonely and I was feeling guilty haha. I haven’t seen her in ages though we live in the same zip code. It was awful of me, I know. So I made sure that I’d be there for her day, though midterm exams were just around the corner.
I took them to Ayala Mall. Lame, right? But she’s never been there and she’s always been bugging me of visiting the place. I brought them to Yellow Cab but her friends, Henny and Margie, didn’t seem to like it so we settled in Shakey’s. It was an extremely funny moment!

One of the many takes we asked from Rhen, the waiter haha.

As soon as Lorelei finished saying grace, Henny and Margie suddenly blurted Happy Birthday so loudly that a crew has to come to our table and ask who was the celebrant. Minutes later, they rendered their Happy Birthday medley.

Yesterday was a day of many firsts. Personally, it was my first time to celebrate with Lornts since high school, hang out with her classmates/roomies/friends, Henny and Margie, and to eat a cake from Breadtalk haha. Lorelei, the celebrant has her own firsts, too. It was her first time to celebrate her birthday away from her family, see Ayala Mall, have a cake on her birthday (ehem hehe) and to have a baby. I thought she had fun and was happy. And it was absolutely memorable! Thank you, Shakey's for being a good sport haha.
Now, I'm on a mission to find a perfect baby boy name for my coming soon inaanak. Don't go out just yet, baby!
Happy birthday, my love, my bff, Lorelei! ♥
