Happy Halloween!
It’s a bit of a dreary one for Cardinal Nation.
Not that we’re not trying to be upbeat and gracious losers. We’ve all made our, “Well Boston earned it,” comments.
Some of us even watched the post-game coverage, and pretended to be happy for the Red Sox and their fans.
The truth is, while everyone else is enjoying their tricks and treats, we’re haunted by the ghost of the World Series that could have been.
We’ll be fine in a few days. After all, in the words of Cubs fans, “there’s always next season.” But for now we’re baseball zombies, and that’s all the Halloween spirit we can muster.
