...bringing home the bacon? ...or phoning it in?
Fast food is, as foretold by its namesake, fast. It’s also got a bit of a reputation for being unhealthy and perhaps belongs in the guilty pleasure category. Especially given the current obesity epidemic.
Is it fair to blame it on fast food? Entirely? Probably not. But they’re not helping their case by test-marketing home delivery in the U.S.
I’m talking to you Burger King. I was shocked to hear that this was being inflicted…I mean tested…on the Washington D.C. area.
I was more shocked to find out that, outside of the U.S. it’s already begun.
Now I’m talking to you McDonald’s. Who are in fact currently offering delivery in 15 different countries and in New York City.
I’m torn between being mortified that you can have a Big Mac delivered (somewhere in the world) and shocked that it’s (mostly) not on U.S. soil.
Of course having fast food delivered takes lazy to a whole new level, but my concerns go beyond that.
What possible state could my fries be in by the time they get to my door?
It’s all about perspective.
