On this day in Harry Potter history, Albus Potter walks through the famed brick wall to Platform 9 3/4, boards the Hogwarts Express, and heads off on his own adventures in the wizarding world made famous by his father, Harry Potter. This actual day. September 1, 2017. I’ll give you a minute to let the awesomeness wash over you.…head back to Hogwarts…head back to Hogwarts

…head back to Hogwarts…head back to Hogwarts…head back to Hogwarts…head back to HogwartsThat, of course, is the epilogue of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” and the opening of the of the Olivier Award-winning play, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.” However, September 1 has been celebrated as Back to Hogwarts Day since we first met the boy wizard more than 20 years ago.

One of the many incredible accomplishments of this series has been making even the most familiar, everyday moments magical. And back to Hogwarts is a back-to-school ritual that even the most reluctant student can get excited about.

Of course, as any Potter-head knows, Hogwarts isn’t just a school, for Harry, “Hogwarts was the first and best home he had known.”

The day represents more than the start of the school year, it serves as a reminder of those truly special places and people in all of our lives.

So, as we all patiently wait for our own owl-delivered Hogwarts letters to (finally) arrive, consider the Hogwarts, Rons, Hermiones, Hagrids, Dumbledores, and even Dobbys of our own lives, and the magic they bring to our everyday lives.
