Call it cliché, but it’s just not Christmas without it.
So, of course, “It’s A Wonderful Life,” had to make our Christmas countdown.
It’s hard to imagine the holidays, or the world even, without this timeless classic. But just for fun, let’s give it a whirl:
- God only knows who or what would be handing out wings to angels.
- Everyone’s favorite roommates on Sesame Street might be named Dick and Harry (I know, it’s just wrong), or worse, not exist.
- All the George Baileys in the world would just have another common name, and wouldn’t be required to perfect their Jimmy Stewart impression by the age of ten.
- Cutesy local florists across the nation would not be named after someone else’s petals.
- Zuzu wouldn’t have become the household name it is today.
- No one would know the lyrics to Auld Lange Syne…wait?
- And we might all be living in Pottersville.
I know it’s too much to think about.
So, let’s just be thankful that we live in a world where George doesn’t jump, Clarence gets his wings and Zuzu’s petals do exist.
