…Hope

Posted on the 08 November 2018 by Zer @the2women

…HopeHey there, fellow crusaders. It's been a rollercoaster of a week. The midterms (which aren't even technically over) both gave hope and ripped it away.

The campaigning leading up to the elections took its toll, and in some cases those using questionable tactics were victorious. Basically, we were reminded of power's ability to corrupt and that fear and ignorance can cause good people to make bad decisions. The good news is you voted (yay!) and so did a lot of other people. In fact, early 50 percent of eligible voters turned up or mailed in their ballots. That's a lot of people showing up to let their voice be heard.

While one election does not have the power to fix everything, it can certainly get the ball rolling. The world doesn't change overnight, and it doesn't change at all if people don't stand up for what is right. And to invoke another cliche-actions speak louder than words.

Your actions don't have to be huge. Not everyone can run for office. But keep paying attention. Donate your time or money to causes you care about. Talk to people who are different from you. Be kind, even when it's hard. Stay active and remember that even the smallest action still has power.

There's always hope, and this week proved it. Hang in there, crusaders.

...just for fun:

Look, a new cheesy comedy starring Vanessa Hudgens! Isn't the world a wonderful place...
