…hope That Somethin’ Better Comes Along

…hope that somethin’ better comes alongIn case you haven’t noticed it’s award season in Tinseltown.  That means anticipation, speculation, and recitation of snubs.  So today I highlight

Regulars to the Crusade my recall a certain plea to the Academy last year, imploring that they allow the Muppets to perform their then nominated now Academy Award winning song during the telecast. It fell on deaf ears.

It was a tough blow, but as with most hardships in life, there comes a point where you must accept the reality and move on.  The Academy  didn’t have room in the broadcast (need I remind you, there were only 2 nominees in the category last year), and that’s just the way it was.

The real crime is that ,due to the rule of precedence, clearly an original song nominee will never grace the Oscars telecast again…wait a minute…

Adele is performing ‘Skyfall’ at the Oscars? Looks like they found some room in that telecast. It’s called consistency guys.  Stick to your guns, and always, always, always, choose the Muppets.

In the interest of fairness I have to also mention that the “Les Misérables” cast will be performing too and I have absolutely no qualms with that either (and especially). I should probably also mention that none of this frustration is directed at Adele or her song. It’s a great song, she’s a great performer.

Why do you love her more than the Muppets Academy?

I’d also like to take this moment to remind the Academy that “The Muppets…Again” is filming right now and they will probably…again be nominated in some capacity.  Do yourself a favor and block out a few minutes in your calendar to let them perform.

Deprive the Muppets’ fans once shame on you, deprive them twice…hell hath no fury…
