How Did You Find Me?

Posted on the 24 June 2013 by Rarasaur @rarasaur

I just noticed this under “Recommended Reading” on the WordPress Reader– categorized under Staff Picks.  Yay!

wordpress says to read me so read me

Thanks, Staff.  I’d pick you, too.

Interestingly enough, that snippet of text was taken from my first rendition of my about page  (Awww) so maybe I’ve been listed for awhile.  The amount of space for text under the above image is actually quite generous by website standards, and it fits right in with how I’ve been thinking about whittling down my “elevator pitch” for Rarasaur into 80 characters or less for web optimization.

Can you describe what you do in 80 characters or less?

I’ve also been trying to determine the best ways, using different metrics, to bring readers to your blog.  I’ve discussed before how having 5000 visitors in a day doesn’t necessary generate a single Great Reader.

Great Readers are worth their weight in gold and my quest has always been to find them, not fame.  To that end, I’d like to hear from you– since I think you’re a pretty Great Reader:

how did you find me?

Because I’m a math geek, I ask that you use the poll box– or, in your comments where you say whatever you want to say (even if it’s just rara-rara-bo-bara-me-mi-mo-mara-rara) , tell me that you did or didn’t use the poll box so that I don’t double count you.

<a href="http://polldaddy.com/poll/7200502">Take Our Poll</a>

(This poll could be just as easily named, “Should I bother with Facebook?”)

The results will be a secret for now because I want to shock and awe you with the results which will be posted in a week, for those curious about what sort of page views and readers have been returned from my various blogging endeavors.

I’m so excited for an excuse to make a chart!  Who doesn’t love a chart?!
