How Do You See the World?

Posted on the 11 February 2012 by Alison @AlStaples
Deep question for a Saturday morning ............................ triggered by a Facebook post.
How do you see the world?
Funny - but a bit depressing. Apparently this is the world according to Americans (I'm sure it isn't really). So I did a bit of digging and found some more national stereotyping.
How do you see the world?

How do you see the world?

The world according to Hungary

How do you see the world?

World according to Sweden.

How do you see the world?

World according to Canada.

How do you see the world?
How do you see the world?
How do you see the world?
Enough of these stereotypes - I apparently live in a country which means jobs to Hungarians.
To the Swedish we invented both soccer (football - honestly!) and hooliganism, our chicks are ugly, we have bad teeth and lots of beer.
To the people of Finland, I live in 'good Europe'.
For Ronald Regan it's 'Thatcherland, a subsidiary of Disneyland'!
And to an alcoholic we are awash with scotch!!
Blaaaaahhhhhhh - we can do better than this! In the words of Michael Jackson (God rest his soul):
What have we done to the world
Look what we've done
What about all the peace
That you pledge your only son...
What about flowering fields
Is there a time
What about all the dreams
That you said was yours and mine...
Did you ever stop to notice
All the children dead from war
Did you ever stop to notice
The crying Earth the weeping shores

Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh

And so I dug deeper - and in doing so I found a little friend - Mole Empire who introduced me to a world that was a better place - ahhh - kittens and puppies and all kinds of clever things. This is more like it!
How do you see the world?
How do you see the world?
How do you see the world?
How do you see the world?
How do you see the world?
How do you see the world?
How do you see the world?
Ahhhhhh - that's better, thank the Lord. Intellectual, artistic and politically correct balance restored again. All is well once more with the world!
