Sponge Curlers A.K.A. Pure Evil

I recommend rag curlers! They're easy, gentle on your hair, comfortable to sleep in, and if you have an old t-shirt or rag laying around, they're also free!
I got the idea when I was binge-watching Orange is the New Black with Tyler (this is what I do when I'm out for a week with a concussion, okay), and I saw Lorna's creative toilet-paper curlers.

I remembered having seen some Pinterest shit about using rags and I was like hey, why not?
So I grabbed one of Tyler's old t-shirts and a pair of scissors.
It only took me a few minutes to cut it up into 12 strips of about 6-8 inches. If you have lots of hair or want small curls, you might need more. I will probably make more for myself for when my hair grows out a bit. But 12 did me just fine.
I took a before picture, so you can see the difference between my natural bit of wave and my hair after the curlers:
Sexy, I know. Especially with the blue fading to a nice puke green.
I ran a wet hairbrush through my hair until it was damp through, but not soaking wet (otherwise it won't dry overnight). I also pinned my bangs out of the way, since I didn't want those curled.
Mmmmmm-hmm. Sexy like a wet dog.
I took strips of hair and began rolling them up, and then tying the fabric tightly at the top (but only tie once or you'll never get this shit out). It can be tricky at first to get the hair to roll up and stay up, but you'll get the hang of it after a few tries!Note the creepy eye staring up at you.
Do the whole head!! (Unless you want your hair half-curled, I guess)Fancy.
Sleep on it. Be kinda gentle, because they can fall out especially if you have short hair like I do. But in sections of hair longer than like 8 inches, they stayed perfectly! In the morning, feel to make sure all your hair is dry before taking them out. This is the curls as they're coming out.
A little crazy at first!! And a little lopsided. The shorter side was a little too short. I think in an inch it'll work better for me!
The final product, all fixed up! Pretty curls!!
And a handy Before & After comparison:
