…hunker downThe 2014 Winter Games have approached under the radar as many are finding it difficult to get excited about international games being hosted by a country that enforces unjust laws towards their gay and lesbian population.

While I am most vehemently anti-hate I have to give them props on their promotion of the games via their public transit. It’s pretty fantastic.

To promote the games, subway stations in Moscow are allowing riders to pay for their passage by doing 30 squats. 

How cool is that?

I might have recommended some simpler calisthenics, especially since the machine can tell when you’re cheating. Maybe jumping jacks or running in place? I would imagine rush hour could get ugly in a hurry as that poor man in the front of the line tries to correct his form.

I didn’t say it was a great business plan, but it’s awesome.

Finally, still anti-hate, but how adorable are the mascots:
