I'm Your Basic Average Girl, and I'm Here to Save the World

So here's the sitch.
I'm Your Basic Average Girl, and I'm Here to Save the World
I now live in Virginia.  I am now married.  I now have no "real" job and instead spend my time cleaning, organizing, and pooping on a somewhat regular schedule.

You thought it would be a picture of poop, didn't you.

Surprise!
To fill in my readers a little bit (not all of you know me in real life, and therefore have no idea what's going on), Tyler is in the US Navy and has just spent the last two years of his life completing his incredibly rigorous nuclear training.  About halfway through the worst of it, we eloped.  Ha.  Don't know if I'd just go around recommending that, but it worked out great for us!  It was totally romantic and we knew we wanted to be together no matter where he was sent next and no matter what happened, so we did it.  It was a leap of faith for us both--for him because holy shit, he got married.  And for me because it's my second marriage, and even though it was the smoothest and most civil break-up of all time, it left me the teensiest bit incredibly terrified of making a commitment like that again.
But Tyler's awesome.  So.

You may kiss the bride!

Things are slowly working their way back to normal now that we're at the new command (that's where the Virginia part fits in) and 14-16 hours of each one of his days is no longer consumed with learning nuclear power.  We're really lucky in that he is most likely not going to have to go on a deployment in the rest of his time with the Navy, and we look forward to being able to spend more time together now.
The no-job part comes in where, as you all know, I write.  Try, anyway.  But I've had no time or energy to really focus on it since I was a kid, and I really think I can produce something beautiful if given the chance.  More importantly, Tyler thinks so too.  It was his idea that I try to stay home and write here at the new command.  This blog post is the first thing I've written since Ty started work a couple days ago...I've been cleaning and organizing the new place to put off delving in and I finally sucked it up and started in the place I knew--right here.  I'm excited and very nervous.

I promise this won't become one of those blogs that's like "Omg, I'm a military wife and I have nothing to do while my husband is gone because he is my entire existence so I'm just going to blog about him and tell you every cute little thing he/the kids/our dog did today and use the word "blessed" all the time.  And maybe a recipe every once in a while."
I promise.

Any writing tips, advice, websites, quotes, forums...anything you can think of is beyond welcome.
Peace!
-Samantha
