Dieters and health-nuts of the world, it’s official, the food-production industry is plotting against you.
Yesterday, Lay’s announced their latest potato chip flavor — chocolate.
Yes, that’s as in chocolate-covered potato chips.
As if the holidays weren’t hard enough for the health-conscious. Now, on top of the cookies, candy, and holiday meals, you’ll have to keep an eye out for that deadly combination of sweet and salty.
Now, all of my fellow foodies out there know that the chocolate-covered potato chip is nothing new. However, with Lay’s throwing their own version out on the shelves, they’ve officially gone mainstream. That means they will be at every holiday gathering this season, because someone there will “just have to try them” (I will be that person).
It could be worse, the chips could come in a larger size, and not be a limited edition item. They’re only selling 5 oz. bags through the holidays…for now.
Being paragons of self-control, we’ll just have to grin, bear it, and enjoy that sweet and salty goodness (in moderation).
