My theme for this year is confidence. If I could only pick one thing to improve upon it would be my confidence. I know that would give me the most bang for my buck as increased confidence would spill over into all areas of my life. I'd write bolder and more vulnerable blog posts. I'd speak up more at work and take on more projects. I would flirt more boldly and likely go on more dates. Much would be gained by improving my confidence.
As I work on building my confidence there are a few celebrities that I think of as good examples of confident women. Now I am not a person who heavily follows celebrities and celebrity gossip, so I will not pretend to know more about these women than I do. However, there is something about them that I find likable and when I see them in the media they come across as confident to me.
In no particular order....
Drew Barrymore. I love how she has not allowed her troubled youth to define her. We all make mistakes. She is a great example of bouncing back.

Oprah. Her confidence to just go for it and to be herself is very inspiring. Despite criticism of every type imaginable she just does whatever she wants from being the cover girl on her own magazine every month to creating a whole network that airs the programming she wants.

The Williams Sisters. Venus and Serena are just unapologetically strong. They are competitive and not afraid to win. They go hard.
These women probably have lots of things in common but what comes to mind most of all is that they all have worked hard, over come some difficulties, and are not afraid of their success.
In those moments when my confidence is wavering I should ask myself what would these ladies do.
