Happy Diamond Jubilee weekend to all of our British readers. And to those who aren’t, well, bear with us Anglophiles for the next few days. In honor of the occasion, 2WC is going British for the day.
What does that mean? Don’t worry we’re not going to test your knowledge of British slang or reference actors who you should know but don’t because they’re not of Hollywood origin and weren’t in the Harry Potter films (shockingly there were a few of them). Not today. Today, we’ll keep it simple.

Today, Queen Elizabeth II took to the Thames with hundreds of other boats in honor of her 60th year as England’s reigning monarch.
A sight to behold, it makes you think about just what is being celebrated. A symbolic monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, holds no real political power; however, for her entire 60 year reign, she and her family have captivated millions around the world.
Of course, not everyone is a fan of the royal family, for various reasons that we will not discuss today either. We’ll just say this, in a world full of politicians isn’t it nice sometimes to remember that there’s still a queen?
