Happy Small Business Saturday!
Placed appropriately, right after Black Friday. This unofficial holiday is intended to bolster local economies, but it also provides a good opportunity to reflect.
If Black Friday is all about the flash, and “bigger is better”; then Small Business Saturday is all about keeping things in perspective.
We live in a world where the latest and greatest is constantly being replaced by the new and improved model. It is incredibly easy to get swept up in all the excitement. The Small Business Sunday slogan “Shop Small,” offers a reminder that the holidays aren’t all about “bigger and better.”
Sometimes simple is better. If we try to constantly outdo ourselves, we will eventually fail. We just finished celebrating Thanksgiving, which is supposed to remind us of all we have to be thankful for. So why not focus on what we already have instead of what we think we need now.
With that in mind, enjoy what’s left of your Thanksgiving weekend!
