…Let People Go

20141227-152548-55548593.jpgAs the excitement surrounding Sony’s “The Interview” starts to wind down, a minor controversy over Ridley Scott’s “Exodus: Gods and Kings” is starting to brew.

The epic film depicting the book of Exodus has been banned in Egypt and Morocco, although, not necessarily for the reasons you might think.

If you’ve seen a trailer for Exodus, and are even a little bit knowledgable on the people of the world, then you’ve noticed that the casting directors didn’t let things like race or historical accuracy hold them back.

However, that is not what is bothering Egypt or Morocco.

Egypt, is upset over the decidedly “Zionist” (aka-Jewish) depiction of history.

Morocco, on the other hand doesn’t like that God is given a form…even if it is only a burning bush.

Oddly enough, neither of them are upset that Sigourney Weaver was cast as an Egyptian. Still, it’s a nice change of pace to have another film taking some heat.
