Let’s Talk About Sex!

LET’S TALK ABOUT SEX! DISCLAIMER THIS IS NOT SEX EDUCATION; NEITHER IS IT A PLOY TO PROMOTE KAMA SUTRA!!

The elephant in the room; SEX! It is an awkward subject to talk about in many circles. It is only a very comfortable topic when we are amongst our very close friends. Is it something I talk about? Yes. Is it something I engage in often? Well that is my business isn't it?

But one thing I know is that we are all sexual beings. This feeling and urge is inside every one of us. Some have very active sexual lives and is constant like day and night, some have sex once in a while and it's like the NEPA/Electricity situation in Nigeria. Today expect power, i.e. sex, and then you may have power outage for days and maybe weeks, meaning no sex till NEPA restores electricity. But these people have a way around this. They have generators and I would liken generators to escorts. When you don't have power, you can always rely on that external source of power isn't it? Now, this to me, is the link between an escort and a generator.

In the case of others, they have not done it before. One statement that intrigued me when I was a lot younger was when people said it was a lack of opportunity and not that they are willing virgins. Now, I am not here to judge anyone on how many times they've done it and how many times they've not done it.

But I have realised that these three people all have one thing in common? Yes; they are all sexual beings. But what is the difference between the Constant Sexual Being (SSB), NEPA Sexual Being (NSB) and the Virgin Sexual Being (VSB).

Drum Roll!!! It is discipline. Now for me, this word can be applied differently to these people.

Constant Sexual Being CSB: Discipline probably wouldn't be an issue especially if he is married. He would be having sex with just one person isn't it? Well, this isn't about married folks. I am talking to you. Yes, YOU! You are reading this now and I am talking to you because you just had sex with some person and then you open this because you thought I was going to give you more tips on how to make her scream next time. Well, I am sorry to burst your bubble. You shouldn't be having sex unless you're ready to be called DAD!

Are you ready to have a baby now? Are you ready to wake up early mornings and take shifts in wiping baby poo and keeping the bottle warm? Well, if your answer is no, then in the words of Tuface Idibia, ' 'See, young man, be careful and think it twice
before you choose to use, before you choose to use, use your device''
.

I am also talking to you young woman. Have you caught your breath now? I know you're under the blanket now with your iPhone texting your friend that he's not even that big. He has a small device isn't it? How do you feel now? He has seen everything and you would probably come back for more isn't it?

Now back to discipline. I know it is not easy to say no to things that bring us pleasure. After all, my counsellor in the university described sex as the sweetest thing ever created. Now, I don't know how true it is. But I know that she hasn't tasted my Egusi Soup. So maybe she wouldn't have said that at all. I think people have sex for various reasons and for the people that have sex constantly and are not married, please STOP!!!

NEPA Sexual Being NSB: Now to our NEPA people, I know it is a struggle for you as well. It is only when you have electricity that you have sex. Now I am not just referring to the electricity situation because you don't have it constantly so when you do, you want to enjoy to the fullest. Sometimes, you want to check if your device is still working and because you want to watch TV, you would now put on the generator.

Now my question is simple? Must you have power supply every day? Must you watch TV? Can't you just sleep and enjoy the rest? Better still, take a walk and or go visit a friend to pass time instead of putting on the generator.

I have a word of advice for you. When you don't have power supply, look for something else to do.

Virgin Sexual Being VSB: To the VSB's, I admire your level of discipline. The times you almost did it and decided to zip up. The time you had undressed and it was about to get down and you said no. It takes a lot of self-discipline to resist the urge of SEX!

If you're virgin, please remain so. If you're not a virgin, please stop having sex. I know it sounds easy; like it's a switch you turn off and on when you feel like. It takes self-discipline and also help from GOD to stop having sex when you're very active. Maybe you feel that if you've had sex before, then it won't make you a virgin again. Well, I have good news for you. You can choose to become CELIBATE!

I would end with a quote from the bible which I believe sums up everything.

2Timothy 2:22 Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. Discipline is not repression, it's freedom!

N.B Egusi soup is made with Palm oil and Melon seeds and is popular in South-Eastern Nigeria.

NEPA means National Electric Power Authority now called PHCN.
