Life as a Bag Lady: My Fair Trade Favorites

Posted on the 09 October 2013 by Lillyneu
One question that I am asked a lot about my new job is, "Where do you work?" I do not actually work on a spin bike, but that is where I do my brainstorming and get to know instructors. The real answer is, I work everywhere!
I have desks at our Highland Park and Plano studios, I am able to work from my house as needed and most of my job is out and about, meeting new people and interacting with companies and non-profits that we love partnering with. When I leave the house in the morning I have a rough idea of what my day looks like, but there are also many days where I end up hauling it up to the other studio or to a surprise meeting. With needing to be prepared for life, a workout and a full day's work on the go, I have turned into quite the bag lady.

Studio selfie with my usual crew: three bags and a banana.

I think I finally have a system down where I can get the show on the road in the morning and not get halfway through the day wishing I had something with me or wondering where something might be. We call it the Inception bag aka the bag-within-a-bag theory.
Also, since my bags and I are like a little wolf pack, it is important to me that they are a good mix of cute and representative of my personality. Sometimes we all make a first impression together, so I don't want to be dressed to the nines (pictured above) and have my stuff in last year's ripped beach tote bringing me down.
Here's my roundup of the best bags that are healthy doses of fair trade, super cute and fully functional should you ever take up my spin gypsy lifestyle:

Favorite Bags
Favorite Bags by lilly-neubauer featuring a canvas pouch Out of Print Pride and Prejudice pouch: This little pouch makes you look smart and is awesome for keeping business cards, pens and USBs all in one place in your larger tote. The purchase donates a book to literacy programs in Africa.  Feed 2 bag: I have this same style bag but in a limited edition version with the art from my favorite Disney attraction, "It's a Small World," on it. Markus got it for our one year anniversary (cotton) to commemorate our Disneymoon and is has held up great! Perfectly fits my 18" laptop, legal pads and more.  Noonday Collection Urban Folklore Bag: If I had three words on this bag it would be OH MY GOSH. I seriously carry this bag everywhere. I love it so so much. The vegan leather looks and feels really high quality and the embroidery is stunning with the fun studs and withstands the beating I put it through daily. The strap comes off and the bag transitions to a fun clutch! Yes. Love.  Purse and Clutch zipper wallet: I am excited to be partnering with this Austin based company to feature their fair trade bag collections! This wallet is such a fun print and I love the wristlet feature and the special cell phone pocket. The ikat print is the real deal woven in Cambodia.  Noonday Collection Patchwork Makeup Bag: I put my cosmetics, mini shampoo, face wash, etc in here to go inside my gym bag. I love the fun print and it is wide enough to hold a toothbrush!  Feed Love bag: This is my gym bag and holds a change of clothes including shoes, water bottle, cosmetics bag, everything. The heart is so cute and it provides 25 meals!
