Words. Ever wonder what they’re good for?
Well, for users of the forthcoming app Emojli, absolutely nothing.
This, soon to be released (if it’s to be believed that is) app, will not use any words—no usernames, no words at all. Users will be identified by an emoji and will communicate with only animated icons. No words allowed. Let’s all pretend this isn’t a description of texting for anyone under the age of 25.
No joke, this is a real thing. Look! They even have a promo video:
I mean, are you really surprised? The top app last week had one function, to send your friends a two letter greeting: Yo. That is literally all it does.
I suppose, it’s sort of a nod to the ancient Egyptians. They say everything comes back in style at some point. Hieroglyphics, your time has come.
