Lost Dreams.....

Posted on the 25 October 2012 by Skip1957 @skip1957
Fall is finally upon us, and the trees are getting more naked as I write...poor trees. I wonder if there is some kind of coat you can put on them after they have lost their leaves? Been a hell of a week, been so busy, haven't had time to really sit and write anything. To work...back home, to work, back home...  same crap, different pile.  I started my balsa wood plane project, and also found that my grandson, although loves the plane, doesn't have much interest in it's building! He'd much rather have it all together, so he can play with it!I haven't had much time to work on it this week.....     I try to write a little something whenever I can, not that I think what I have to say is that important, but just for the sheer joy of writing. You see, in reality, I had once dreamed of being a writer, but of course, when I was young and in school, I thought I already knew everything there was to know, and left. It was only years later, I realized I didn't know as much as I thought! Isn't it funny, how that happens so often in ones life time! Now of course, I had other dreams as well, one, which I think many of us have had at one time or other, was to be a rock star, and become rich and famous, but apparently to do that, you have to have better than average musical talent! Now don't get me wrong, I have always had some musical talent, but it never took me anywhere. as I sit here tapping on my keyboard, I actually am listening to Paul MacCartney, and Ringo Starr, singing "With A little Help From My Friends". They were in the small band at one time, called The Beatles. They got lucky, and became famous. If you haven't heard of them, please click out of this blog now..........   We all have those little dreams and aspirations, and more often than not, they fall by the wayside. It's really kind of sad, but of course lifes circumstances, doesn't always allow us to follow through. How often have you been told to follow your dreams? How often have you been really able to? Although I have never been able to follow my dream of being a writer in the professional sense, at least posting a blog now and then, gives me a real sense of pride and accomplishment at times. The pay sucks, but when even one person reads, it makes it all worth while!  So as I sit here, tinkering away at my keyboard, dreams long past, but not forgotten, I think of my children, and grand children, and can only hope, that their dreams all come true.
