Lucky Restaurant Bandra - Biryani Review

Posted on the 02 December 2013 by Justalovelythought @justalovelythou
Its been more than a year and half I am in Mumbai. Two famous eating out joints were still untouched by me. I have a problem of being in my comfort zone, specially with food. My Kolkata Connection in Malad serves amazing biryanis and curries so never felt the need to visit either Lucky restaurant or zaafar bhai. However, today I managed to go to Lucky near Bandra station. Had time and appetite too. Experience was quite a let down I must say. I ordered my staple chicken biryani. Felt good when it came, no fried onions! Good. Felt bad when there was no customary saalan or raita with it! Thats sin boss! You cant do that! Anyway, started eating hoping for some delicious taste, which was certainly not there. At best it was as good as some fine grain rice well cooked chicken pieces. I felt salt was little less. As far as spices are concerned all I could figure and see was pepper and cloves. As if the rice was cooked with these two spices only. Same with chicken. Though the pieces were well cooked but no fragrance of spices and quite dry. Then I ordered raita since I needed something to make it more exciting. That was another dissapointment. Why on earth a restaurant will serve you only curd n fresh crispy boondi as raita? Was hungry hence hogged most of it. When I was almost done, one tiny piece of potato popped up too! To be fair it was much better than many other nonsense being sold as biryani. But, there is a huge scope of improvement. At least for biryani. Ambience, as expected,  chaotic.  Testimonials from Sachin and Dhoni I could see, hanging on the wall. Waiters were in a rush and you cant expect finesse from them. Guess if again I land up in Lucky I wont eat chicken biryani. Now its Zaafar bhai's turn.  Lucky Restaurant Bandra - Biryani reviewLucky Restaurant Bandra - Biryani review
