Posted on the 29 July 2013 by Kinderhandbtips
Mac' Painterly Paint Pot is my go-to base when I wear eyeshadow on my lids.  I have been using it for YEARS, and I always recommend it to everyone.  Why?  Because it is simply the best.

Mac's Paint Pots are basically just a cream eyeshadow, but I use it as a base, as it is SO good at accentuating the color and vibrancy of your eyeshadows, it really makes them pop!  It also makes your eyeshadows last longer!  It's very creamy, non-oily and feels really nice on the skin . And so it makes a great base for your eyeshadow.

Mac say this is "a highly pigmented eye color that goes on creamy, but dries to an intense, vibrant finish.   The next generation of a popular M.A.C. formula, Paint Pot's maintains all the intense traits of its inspiration.  Long-wearing, colourfast.  Creates seamless coverage without weight or caking.  Blends smoothly over the lids.  Cream-based, can be mixed with M.A.C. shadows and liners."
When picking a Mac Paint Pot for yourself, choose one that closest matches your skin tone.  The soft ochre Paint Pot is really good for yellow-based skin tones.  Painterly paint pot is really good at evening out your eyelid area skin tone and concealing veins, redness and things like that.
You can apply it with a Mac 217 brush, a concealer brush or just do like I do, I apply it with my index finger.
Some creasing does occur after about 6 hours ish.  Painterly is also a good choice of color to go for if you want to be more versatile in your eyeshadow options - you can do a Smokey-look or natural look.
Below are some swatches which show just how much the paint pot makes your eyeshadows pop!

As you can see, the eyeshadow really POPS when worn over Painterly Paint Pot, and looks a completely different color when worn alone!  (Eyeshadow used:  Bash by Bobbi Brown)
At £15 for 5g of product this is SO great, and lasts a long time!
I rate this a 10/10 and I have continued re-purchasing this several times!
