Today, I'd like to take a moment for manners. Not just because it's National Compliment Day (although it does provide a nice excuse), but because we shouldn't need hashtags to remind us to be kind to one another.
And without getting into details, it's been a rough few weeks for kindness. So today, let's take a moment to remember that most of us (yes, most) are good, decent people worthy of kindness and maybe even a compliment to celebrate the day.
I know kindness is not always easy, everyone has a bad day, but I have to believe it's still worth making the effort...
Of course, compliments take kindness to a whole other level.
This goes beyond being decent to your fellow human beings.
To pay a good, selfless compliment you have to dig deep and take a moment to appreciate those around you, genuinely.
Remember, this isn't just about saying something nice, it's about recognizing the awesomeness of others...
Now get out there and make nice...who knows you might just get a compliment or two along the way...
