Another February 2, another weather prediction by an (adorable) over-grown squirrel. You don’t have to be a meteorologist to guess what the groundhog saw today…although it would make you more qualified to make such forecasts.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’d like to address the groundhog directly:
Dear Punxsutawney Phil,
I’m not going to tell you how to do your job, Phil, but today, it seems like you made the safe choice. No one is going to be surprised by six more weeks of winter. However, an early spring, that you predicted, that would turn heads. Why not make the gutsy call here. What’s the worst that can happen?
What happened to that wild and crazy groundhog that drove like a bat out of hell with Bill Murray?
Would he have foretold six more weeks of winter? Okay, the answer is probably yes, assuming that it was sunny that day. But isn’t life about self-improvement? Don’t let the shadows of years gone-by define this year’s rodent-predicted weather patterns.
I’m just saying, do you want to be remembered as a groundhog who took risks, or a groundhog that ran away from his own shadow? It’s up to you, Phillip.
