Much love and thanks to my guest blogger, NotAPunkRocker, for giving me a fun Thursday night project! I followed her instructions pretty much exactly like I follow all instructions– which is to say I focused on about half, and improvised the rest because I have the attention span of a gnat. Still, I think the spirit of it was captured and I’m pretty happy with the rawr-tastic results!
My Little Helper. He quite helpfully sat on all my nail polish bottles and valiantly fought the roll of tape.
It’s harder to get your thumb and fingers in a picture than you’d think. After a few minutes of not being able to manage the photo without blurry nails or leaving out fingers, I brainstormed this photo angle. Then Dave pointed out I was still in my ratty robe, that my thumbs still weren’t showing, and that I hadn’t cleaned off my nail polish yet. So I made Dave solve the problem for me.
Look at that! Nearly all my fingers are showing! Ignore the “der” look. Ignore it, I said. I was going to crop it out, but the headless look frightened me.
If I had spent as much time cleaning up my nails as I did applying unnecessary photo filters to this one, there wouldn’t be nail polish all over my knee right now. True story.

I was actually really surprised by how difficult it was to capture the essence of a manicure. It seemed easy, but the light shines all funny and the colors never seem right. Plus, hands are really weird things.
Have you ever stumbled upon something that seemed like it should be easy, but actually isn’t?
