The Harry Potter corner of the nerd world was shaken last week by a startling confession from none other than J.K. Rowling herself.
In a recent interview, the author admitted that she may have mismatched Ron and Hermione. To be more specific, she admits that Harry and Hermione would have made a much more plausible pairing…and cries of anguish were heard throughout the land.
How did this happen? Ms. Rowling explained, ”For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron.”
She also included that she is sorry, but that’s little solace to the scorned Potter fan.
Needless to say that this revelation has enraged many a Potter enthusiast. An already present sect of pro Harrmione (I’m trying it out, not sure I like it) fans have now been validated, and everyone else just discovered they’ve been reading a lie. Not to mention, poor Ginny.
I just hope you realize what you’ve done Ms. Rowling. You’ve chosen a side in what could very well become a full-blown nerd war. Godspeed.
