Mind the Bump!

Posted on the 30 May 2011 by Susiemcbeth @susiemcbeth
I am now 20 weeks pregnant and have finally passed the phase of looking a bit like I am carrying a food baby into definitely looking pregnant. In the last couple of weeks my bump has grown along with my cup size again - yes my breasts are enormous, nearing on porn star size. This apparently is a perk of pregnancy (I am not sure for who exactly, but I am guessing the receiver of this perk may have genitalia different from my own, or is at least someone not hosting a couple of passengers in their womb!).
Anyway the twins are definitely making use of the extra room my body is now housing and are still wriggling about like crazy, especially during music time first thing in the morning. Angels & Airwaves in particular really get them moving.
I got an email this morning informing me some interesting facts about the twins: they are now the size of large bananas and are covered in a white goo called ‘vernix caseosa’ to protect their skin and make them more slippery to help on their entry into the world (they are sounding more like little aliens the more I read). They are also honing their muscles by punching and kicking me...it all sounds a bit violent really!
Anyway I am half way there in singleton pregnancy terms, and a bit over half way there in twin pregnancy expectancy. So my growing bump is a comfort that things are heading towards the finish line. I have noticed now that when people hug me, there is a delay before I really feel the hug. The twins get the benefit of the first wave of the embrace and I get left with the seconds before they pull away. At this point if I really want to be hugged, I am going to have to tackle the hug sideways on.
Well I have posted a couple of pictures below. One is of me with my bump... and the other one is me smiling (proof that being the sacred incubator that I am doesn’t suck!).
