Loyalty can be a fickle friend, especially in the world of business. When Target announced that they’d had a data breach that impacted millions of their customers, a bit of loyalty-loss would’ve been understandable.
However, according to a recent survey of Target customers, most (85 percent) of those who had their credit and debit info swiped are willing to forgive and forget.
That’s some pretty impressive blind loyalty, especially when you consider that only 50 percent of those surveyed think Target will be able to keep their credit and debit-card information safe, going forward.
For those of you trying to do the math at home, just know that those numbers do not add up.
While the blind loyalty combined with a healthy dose of skepticism is appreciated by Target, it does raise an interesting question about how little were willing to accept when it comes to our personal information’s safety.
Here’s hoping the optimistic (though, possibly less informed) other 50 percent surveyed are right about future security breaches.
