Unplugging is great…until you get back into cellular service and wifi range and realize you have 3024 unanswered emails, 99+ Facebook updates, I don’t know how many bazillion tweet mentions, 547 unread posts on Bloglovin, and the usual pile of social media god-knows-what to deal with! So Scott and I are parked in a Starbucks near the port in Vancouver, catching up on all our digital correspondence while our room is getting all spruced up. Can I say I just love SBUX and their free wifi?

So we unplugged this week. For 7 nights and 8 days, except for a few moments where we stuck some photos on Instagram and Facebook and texted the parents to let them know we were still alive, Scott and I were blissfully, amazingly unplugged from the world and having some pretty spectacular adventures! I can’t wait to show you what we’ve been up to since the Disney Wonder sailed out of port a week ago! Let’s just say our 49th state defies words. I honestly do not have the words to describe how incredible it is. I now understand why people who’ve been stationed here want to come back and put it on their list of places to retire. So before I start running through the Monday Currently {catch-up blogging at its…finest?}, I just want to show you a couple of my favorite pictures so far from our adventures! eTours to follow :)

Currently…

In…Vancouver, British Columbia, on the heels of an absolutely epic week spent racing sled dogs, hiking glaciers, going on Klondike horseback treks, dining on the freshest of fresh salmon, and a hundred other adventures in Alaska! We just finished our second Disney Cruise, this time on the Disney Wonder, from Vancouver up through the Alaskan fjords and stopping a few times on the way back down for adventures. I can’t wait to share them all with you! Seriously, if you’re going to go on an adventure, book a Disney Cruise…and if you’re going to book a Disney Cruise, book this one!

Next Stop…tomorrow, we’re heading to Hawaii! We’re finally going to get to the islands after all these months of traveling! Granted, we’ve got a few more days in hotels before we can get moved into our house, but honestly, I can’t even explain to you just how ready I am, after two and a half months of living out of suitcases, to finally get unpacked!!

Feeling…amazed and awed. We saw some truly amazing things, and I feel like every day there were at least a couple bucket list worthy adventures. Not only did I set foot on my 50th state {Alaska was the only one I’ve been missing}, but I think we definitely did it in bucket list style! I never imagined we’d be able to do all of the things we did.

Reading…nothing at the moment. I made it through two professional development books and one Jim Butcher novel {I love the Dresden Files} on the trip, amazingly enough, and I’m temporarily out of books. So many of my favorite bloggers have been kind enough to share their favorite summer reads and some of the lovely ladies blogging at Murder She Writes have new books coming out, so I’ll be looking for those as well!

Clicking…on all those blogs I’ve missed out on and the comments I haven’t responded to. I’m making slow headway through them, so if you commented and didn’t get a reply, I do like to reply to or give feedback to all my commenters {okay, I’m still a relatively newbie blogger so there aren’t all that many, so I DEFINITELY appreciate those of you who do comment!} so I’m getting there!

Writing…this blog. Story ideas, outlines, and character bios. Ideas to polish up short stories I’ve written and maybe, finally, turn them into a full length novel. Now that the for-fun writing has started really flowing, I want to see if I can stick with it long enough to do something with it.

Listening…to the happy sounds of the coffee shop around me which, surprisingly, isn’t playing any coffee shop music. But that’s okay, I found a coffee shop station on Sirius before we shipped the car, so as soon as we get our car back, I can get my Jack Johnson – John Mayer – Dave Matthews – acoustic singer/songwriter fix.

Thinking…is it too soon to be thinking about what our next big adventure is going to be? Traveling has only given me more of the travel bug! During the three years we’ll be living out in Hawaii, Scott and I want to do some island hopping, visit Japan {Tokyo Disney, anyone?}, Australia, New Zealand {can you say Lord of the Rings tour?}, and dive Palau. Granted, we have some expenditures from the move, this trip, and upcoming house renovations to take care of, but if we can figure out a smart way to make it all happen, we will!

Smelling…coffee. I’m convinced that in the language of scent, caramel macchiato translates to pure happy.

Wishing…that life {and my job} continue to be good to us so that if/when we have kids, we’re able to take them on these kinds of adventures and give them an appetite for travel and learning.

Hoping…that if/when we have kids, we can teach them to love and appreciate the joy of travel and not have the two brats we overheard complaining that they wanted to go play X-Box instead of viewing the fjords. Seriously? Blergh.

Wearing…shorts, sandals, shirt, and hat. The hair I woke up with this morning made it a hat day for sure. It’s warm here in Vancouver today, so the shorts were a must. I hope it lasts – we want to head over to the botanical gardens after we get checked into our room.

Loving…traveling with my husband. He’s the easiest person in the world to travel with. He’s excited about our adventures and he’s always up for trekking around with me, but he’s just as content to pull out a book or his iPad and kick back while I’m typing away on the computer. I always feel like I hit the hubby jackpot with him, and I can’t wait to continue our adventures together in Hawaii!

So what’s on your mind, currently?
