Mother’s Day Tribute to My Mom

Mother’s Day Tribute to My Mom

Not that I need a special day to write a Mother’s Day tribute to Mom. I consider myself extremely fortunate that I had my Mother and Grandmother, two wonderfully wise women who believed in giving and not keeping score.

God could not be everywhere. So he made Mothers” is a quote especially true in my life. I consider it a miracle that I am alive today.

My Mother is my hero. As a single parent, life wasn’t easy. Yet she always showered love and encouragement on me. I was devastated when she was snatched away from our lives on Feb 8, 2010, but she continues to be with us in spirit, inspiring us, watching over us. We cherish the memories and are grateful to have been at the receiving end of her wisdom.

My Mother. My Mother (1945-2010) is with us in spirit. She was generous in life and generous in death. The epitome of Unconditional Love, compassion, generosity. Adored and remembered by all those who knew her.

Dear God, let my Mother be my daughter the next time around.
Because I want to be connected to her forever.

I love you, Mom!

Happy Mother's Day Tribute

I am writing a Tribute to Mom in association with Parentous.com on their invitation here.

“When God made Moms, he gave me the best one!”

A Mother’s Day Tribute to Mom

My dearest Mi,

How can I forget how you:

  • always looked at me with love
  • smiled no matter what
  • skipped a meal so i could be healthy
  • taught me to always respect food and never waste it
  • showed me the difference between wants and needs
  • worked three jobs so you could put me through school
  • drew the picture of a cake and candle for me when we couldn’t afford one
  • cut your hair to please me
  • applied henna on my hair so my hands wouldn’t get stained
  • waited with the door open even when you knew I wouldn’t be home for another hour
  • phoned me at work to say there was a two-hour special of my favourite artist on TV
  • convinced me i was always worth it
  • assured me i was enough
  • taught me that no effort ever goes waste
  • supported me through everything even when you didn’t approve
  • encouraged me by always saying “you can do it”
  • built in me the never-say-die spirit
  • always believed in me
  • never came to a conclusion on hearsay before you listened to me
  • filled me with positivity
  • taught me to be tolerant
  • motivated me to stay focused and taught me to never give up
  • always had a warm hug and bright smile for me
  • had a joke for every tense situation
  • made me feel like i was having a feast even when we were broke
  • bought two of everything so my friends felt included – they all remember
  • lovingly taught T and me the joys of cooking from scratch
  • insisted my colleagues at work came home and had dinner because they were away from their families – they still appreciate it
  • bought something from the door-to-door sales girls because you felt sorry for them
  • used the soft blue clips for the baby’s clothes, as if the other clips would hurt them
  • raised me without ever letting me feel the lack of a father
  • made me feel my life was filled with abundance
  • laughed even when you were in pain
  • were a staunch moral support as i fought my personal demons
  • gave me love even when i sulked
  • conspired with my friends to surprise me
  • were ever-ready to help others, even strangers
  • taught me that kindness to the living was more important than rituals to the dead
Mother's Day tribute thanks

Here is a beautiful poem that fits you perfectly

My Mother’s Garden

My Mother kept a garden,
a garden of the heart;
She planted all the good things
that gave my life its start.

She turned me to the sunshine
and encouraged me to dream…
fostering and nurturing
the seeds of self-esteem.

And when the winds and rains came,
she protected me enough…
but not too much – she knew I’d need
to stand up strong and tough.

Her constant good example
always taught me right from wrong…
markers for my pathway
to last my whole life long.

I am My Mother’s Garden.
I am her legacy.
And I hope today she feels the love
reflected back from me.

I am so grateful Vidur has you for a Grandmother

I am grateful to be his Mom

Thank you, Mi!

Here is the essence of this song’s truly beautiful lyrics:

We have never seen Him (God)

But there is no need to, because how can His face be different from yours, oh Mom?
You have nurtured Man and God, Mom. Heaven is at your feet as your eyes shower affection on me. What idol can do this?

As long as your hand is raised in blessing, I can never be sad or miserable. As long as you are there to light my darkness, who needs the sun!

No words are adequate to praise you enough. Even God has no way to match (compensate) your love. All I know is that there is no wealth greater than you, oh Mom!

♥ Happy Mother’s Day to you, dear friends ♥

What is the one thing you are proud to share about your Mom?
