There’s nothing like packing up all your belongings to help remind you what is important.
It’s amazing the things we will hold on to for one reason or another. I guess that sentimentality is part of what makes us human. Of course, it’s a completely different “no way in hell, I’m moving all this stuff” sentiment that makes us break out the garbage/donations bag as we begin to pack up all our stuff.
Yet, somehow we still manage to hold on to that menu from that one cafe, and that ticket from that great concert.
So, here’s to holding on to a bit of the old while moving on to new and better things.
To our fellow movers, good luck. To the rest of you, congratulations on not having to move.
