Thirty Minutes or Less by Michael Diliberti was a fun, funny, and entertaining. I thought the plot took a lot of classic motifs and combined them to make a unique story:
- assassinating someone to inherit their money/lifestyle (hello, Macbeth)
- falling for your friend's sibling
- struggling with your identity and what to do with your life
- desperate for money, leading to a bank robbery
- outsmarting the bad guys
Danny McBride (of Eastbound and Down), Nick Swardson (of the disturbingly funny Playtime with Nick Swardson and Aziz Ansari (Parks and Recreation) are all obviously, in-your-face hilarious, but it was really fun seeing Jesse Eisenberg (of The Social Network) in a comedy role that still called for his natural quick wit and sort of serious intensity.
Definitely a great show to through veg out to and let off some steam, for the exploding teddy bear scene alone (why a cute fuzzy bear exploding is funny, I'm not exactly sure, but it definitely is).
Enjoy!
