We made it, Crusaders! It’s Halloween Weekend! Whether you’re in it for the costumes, the candy, or the creepy, there’s a lot of fun ahead…
In honor of the holiday, this Flick Friday is all about Halloween movies…of the non-scary variety (mostly), because frankly, I don’t understand the appeal of terrifying yourself intentionally. I prefer to watch my movies, not occasionally catch a glimpse when I find my bravery and peek from behind the couch. (Usually, I immediately regret that decision.)
So, here are just a few of my favorite Halloween movies for your enjoyment. I wish you all a Happy Halloween Weekend. Be safe.
“The Cabin in the Woods”
Okay this one is going to appear to be scary at first. I promise, it’s not, but you’re going to have to tough it out. I believe in you.
“Hocus Pocus”
I know, I’ve share this like a thousand times since the beginning of October, but it just isn’t Halloween without the Sanderson Sisters, so suck it up and enjoy the seasonal happiness.
“ParaNorman”
I absolutely love this movie any time of the year, but it’s especially great at Halloween. Added bonus, it’s kid-friendly. You’re welcome.
“Casper”
I have a dream that someone will make a new Casper movie using motion capture technology (please?), but in truth, nothing will ever replace this wonderful blend of sweet storytelling and absolute ridiculousness and Bill Pullman. And for all of the gentleman whose childhoods were ruined by this summer’s “Ghostbuster” reboot, there’s an original cast cameo for you.
