Unlike the last time the Cardinals and Red Sox met at the World Series, this series has been an interesting two-sided battle that’s featured a few highly discussed calls. One in particular occurred during the finale of Game 3.

I will not be mentioning the call directly, because I’m certain that every one who cares (and probably a few who do not) has heard about this call more than they care to. I think we all have the correct language memorized when discussing this random, but accurate call.

In fact, I’d like to take it a step further and suggest that we make not talking about the call a general policy moving forward.

Was it out of the ordinary? Yes.

Did it require explanation at the time? Yes.

Do we need to mention it every five minutes during the game? No.

Why? I think it’s been adequately explained that while it’s not a common call and it’s a crappy way to end a World Series game, it was correct.

So I’d like to suggest that we all take a deep cleansing breath, get it out of our systems, and move on.

The series is tied up (unfortunately), it’s a level playing field once more. Let’s continue, unobstructed.
