[October 7]: A Can Of Gasoline

Posted on the 08 October 2012 by Sarahkasm @Sarahkasm

Blaze and burn;
4 years of a stamped and signed certificate,
18 years of memorizing texts and arithmetic,
Tools that are open secrets
Unserviceable and cheapened.

Blaze and burn;
Sleepless nights, street lights
Sneaking through windows
With the wind that blows at the candle,
Drips wax on the table,
Unstable with carefully written papers
That will never be read through.
Blaze and burn;
Wasted youth
A lifetime of responsibilities
Inherited before dreams could be planned
Forcing the exodus to unwelcoming lands
Don’t want to be there,
Not wanted there,
But the need is greater for one to care

Blaze and burn;
Skin glowing bright,
Then slowly darkening, crumbling,

Into dead cells and ashes
Voice screaming till the vocal chords
Are nothing but debris
Bou Azizi
Show them what it looked like
When they set fire to your dreams.
