I'm properly mobile now! Sitting here in Starbucks in Liverpool One - drinking a bucket full of latte (which I'm assured is a medium), served to me by an alarming looking orange woman with huge hair and fierce eye liner.
I'm writing on my new Christmas netbook which I love nearly as much as my husband Tris (who bought it for me). I've got a ten hour battery life and I'm good to go.
I'm sitting amongst teenagers in their school uniforms doing their homework assignments and texting their mates, while others, focused intently on their lap tops drink frappuccions with a tower of 'Mister Whippy' squirty cream on top which seems to defy gravity.
There is easy listening smoothing from the speakers and the sky is blue.
Hello Liverpool - this is the life!
This morning, while watching breakfast TV in the Novotel I watched an interview with the artist chosen by the BBC as the Sound of 2012. While I don't like to be told what I'm going to like - they do have a pretty good track record. Previous winners include Adele, Jessie J, Ellie Goulding and Keane.
This years winner is Michael Kiwanuka - a solo artist and for the most part, its just him and his guitar. He describes himself as a mix of folk and soul and from the clips they showed on TV it sounded great. If you want to read more about Michael and his BBC interview click on this link.
If you want to listen to Michael Kiwanuka, here is a taster. There is loads more on You Tube and his CD will be coming out shortly.
