Blogiversary

Right about this time last year, I wrote this blog post and started my blogging journey. I started this blog to keep track of my journey toward our Disney wedding – and it just seemed appropriate at the time to call it my happy ever after – but it’s taken on a life of its own and transformed me in the process.

Planning the wedding was fun, but blogging really helped me to explore interests and hobbies that I really hadn’t set aside enough time to enjoy – fashion {where I watched my Friday’s Fancies evolve from this to this}, cooking {and sharing my recipes from my seared ahi to fondue to tasty tiramisu}, and all the things that just make me happy.

Six months later, I adore my husband far more than even on our wedding day because of the happy ever after we’re building together, and the love and support we’ve given to each other as we’ve started building our dreams. There are so many things in my life going on right now that I’m grateful for – my husband, my family, his family, good friends, living in New York, moving to Hawaii again soon, my job – that it almost feels wrong to want more, but that’s led me to where I am now – planning my happy ever after, beyond just a wedding.

When crafting out my 101 in 1001, I realized that while I’m very happy, there’s still a lot I’d like to accomplish over the next few years. The hubby and I will be in Hawaii for three years, and after that, we don’t know – but there’s part of our happy ever after to plan there. My retirement from the Army can happen at age 40, which is {appallingly!} within the next 10 years, so we have to figure out what life after Army looks like. I want to figure out if I can actually do anything with these hobbies of mine that might lead me to a life after Army that I love, or maybe creating my own job/business. Who knows?

Life still goes on after the carriage has driven away and turned back into a pumpkin, but I’m learning that if you come up with a good plan, you can still keep chasing that happy ever after. Thank you so much to all of you who have supported this journey. I can’t wait to see what adventures the next year brings!

Wishing you a wonderful day,

:D KCS
