Open Letter to Starbucks

Posted on the 13 October 2013 by Justalovelythought @justalovelythou

Dear Starbucks,
This is a direct letter to you. I hope you read this and as usual I am not expecting anything out of this.
When you launched and landed in India I saw a huge discussion and brouhaha on social media. Heard about longer than train ticket queues for your coffee! Kept me wondering that guess finally India has arrived. Now we surely will do a double-digit growth. Every teething problem will now be dissolved in your holier than though coffee!
One of those who prefer cutting chai and filter coffee from any Udipi joint. I did not even try to venture out to you. But does that mean you would treat me like the way you did? I thought you were as large-hearted as your sprawling and spacious outlets! But it certainly turned out otherwise on a fateful Friday.
I was rushing for a meeting, usually late and empty stomach. Indiabulls Finance center in Mumbai. While running I saw your luscious store there and an array of food items decorated. I gave up to my temptations. And I entered your outlet. After going through all the price tags I in my best interests chose a beautiful looking club sandwich.
Having ordered that I sat gleefully imagining the beautiful sandwich melting in my mouth. surprisingly it took 10 minutes to come specially when there were only one table which was occupied other than mine.
It came. It was piping hot which surprised me! Sandwiches are not meant to be that hot! The hotness created the puzzle on my face and it only got worse. I couldn't believe that I was sitting in a world-class eating joint!! The multi-grain bun was as hard as stone! The egg was stale and chewy. The chicken patty was ridiculously stale. I was so disgusted by that I did not even complaint. Had to leave that as it is. Having spent 220 bucks for an absolute rubbish irated me beyond limits! I would rather spend 10 bucks for a roadside vadapav and feel happy about it.
It was so bad an experience dear Starbucks that I did not eat anything post that the entire day. Not to say that I felt queasy and had to buy medicine for my upset tummy. So you literally screwed my Friday evening too!
Tell me only if I did not stand in the long queue for coffee, you would treat me like this? Not fair you lady.
Absolutely not fair. People who are reading this, if at all please what you at Starbucks! Till date its my worst experience in any eatery leave any QSR or cafes!
Never again.
