I just stumbled across these photos on my computer and wanted to share them with you. These are a few of my favorite sites at Petersburg National Battlefield, right across the street from Fort Lee’s Army Lodging. They have a wonderful deal going with the post - Army folks can do their physical training there for free. The paths are well maintained, there have been plenty of people around whenever I’ve run, and I’ve seen the park rangers making the rounds at regular intervals to ensure safety, so I’ve been going running there just about every day.
There are lots of wonderful trails for the runners and naturalists out there and lots of historical sites for the history buffs out there, so if you’re ever in the area, I definitely recommend checking it out.
In other news, I’m finally at the point where I think I have this whole move thing under control. I’ve got arrangements to get our car shipped out, to get the movers to come pack up all the stuff we can’t take on the plane with us, to get signed out of post, and then we’ve got some adventuring to do before we get to Hawaii! Six more states, one Alaska cruise, and then it’s time to get acquainted with our island home again! As you can probably tell from this picture, I’m pretty excited. I’m also really liking black and white photography lately. I don’t know why.
I’m also excited because we’re finally done with the long-distance-relationship-all-over-again! My husband’s coming up here from Florida today to help me wrangle cars and movers and all the logistics of getting us moved out of here!
Hoping you’re all having a great week so far!
